ICPPF Congratulates Samia Nkrumah

The International Convention Peoples Party Forum wishes to congratulate Ms Samia Nkrumah for her electoral success in the just-ended Parliamentary elections of 7 December 2008.

The Forum also extends its unflinching support to the lone CPP parliamentarian for the firmness taken so far in her political career. In demonstrating such a height, the ICPPF is of the view that Samia has indeed fulfilled what the Osagyefo- the first prime minister of Ghana once said: “As far as I am concerned, death cannot extinguish the flame that I have lit in Africa. Long as I am gone, the torch that I have lit will continue to burn to give hope and encouragement to many.”

Dr Kwame Nkrumah was of the view that unless as Africans and indeed Ghanaians, meet this obvious and very powerful threat of neo-colonialism with a unified African front, based upon a common economic and defence policy, this strategy will destroy them all.

“Samia might have realised that just as our strength lies in a unified policy and action for progress and development of Ghana and perhaps African continent at large, so is the strength of our opponents in our continued disunity.” The political discontentment, tribal wars, military coups, corruption, poverty and sickness in Ghana and in Africa, the ICPPF argues, might have been clear manifestations of these.

The forum’s executives, members and perhaps its sympathizers, submit that it might have been abundantly clear that Samia Nkrumah’s appearance on the Ghanaian political scene is a sign that the real independence of Ghana that her father Kwame Nkrumah proclaimed in 1957, is about to be revisited.

“Like many statesmen before her, we believe that Samia was indeed of low political background before appearing on the world scene,” the report adds. The ICPPF doubt not the vision and ideas of the Jomorans newly-elected Ghanaian Parliamentarian, who until recently, had been peddling between Italy and the United Kingdom.

“As the saying goes, most great things have often had humble beginnings- Samia might therefore, be a living example under whose hands and watch the burning flames of unity within the Nkrumahist family will continue to give hope and encouragement to the Ghanaian still wandering in unending nights and darkness. For your ELECTORAL SUCCESS THE ICPPF SAYS SAMIA, AYEKOO,” the International CPP Forum unwavering proclaims.

Indeed like her father- the late Osagyefor Dr Kwame Nkrumah (September 21, 1909 – 27 April 1972) and many of his compatriots, they have left living marks on many. So, the International Convention Peoples Party Forum has every reason for these higher expectations. But as to whether the lone CPP Parliamentarian could measure up to this, is yet to be reported.
