Dear Nana Addo- A Prominent Son of Ghana and The Eastern Region,
FUNDRAISING DINNER
[1] We have just been informed about your arrival in Koforidua, in the Eastern Region.
[2] We are told that this forms part of your political campaign to lead the main opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) in 2016; and if God were to be on your side, to be enthroned as Ghana’s President, on 07 January 2017.
[3] We wish you well in all your endeavors and please, permit me to make the following advocacy and appeal:
ADVOCACY
[4] Recent news reports inform us that although Ghana faces numerous economic challenges at all-levels of the Ghanaian economy, it is said that the Eastern Region, commands the highest number of bad roads in the country- the most often cited being the Nsawam-Apedwa Road or should we generally say, the Accra-Kumase High Way, which serves millions of West Africans. [5] We had accordingly, sought to enquire whether you could respectfully, use your soaring political popularity and links, to launch a fundraising dinner towards the final payment of the outstanding unpaid debts. [6] I’m unsure about the total outstanding debt which the government appears to be struggling to settle with the road contractors responsible for the eventual completion of that stretch of Nsawam-Apedwa Road. But I hear it runs into the region of millions. And your timely intervention in this regard might help speed up the construction of this high way.
Thank You.
Asante Fordjour
