Addressing the gathering, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, NPP presidential aspirant for Election 2012, promised that he would never disappoint Ghanaians when voted into power on 7 December.

He called for the stabilization of the Ghana cedi to enable it to compete with international currencies to attract foreign and local investors.

Nana Akufo-Addo said a government of the NPP would build a giant economy, and support private businesses to create jobs and wealth for the people.

He said the cash and carry system in the health sector that was abolished some years ago by NPP had bounced back due to mismanagement of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government.

Nana Akufo-Addo said when elected as President of the Republic, he would reform the NHIS to restore confidence in the Scheme.

The NPP flag bearer said he still stood by his free Senior High School (SHS) educational policy, and promised to also improve facilities at in schools in line with his programme.

Mr Yaw Osafo-Maafo, a minister in the former Kufuor administration, said free SHS education proposed by Nana Akuffo-Addo was possible, and appealed to the people to vote for the NPP because the NDC had disappointed them in the implementation of development projects.

Mr Kwamina Bartels, a former minister, appealed to the electorate to avoid “skirt and blouse” voting, and said when the NPP is able to wrest more parliamentary seats, it would be able to win Election 2012.
