A former Attorney General and Justice Minister, Ayikoi Otoo is expressing worry in the seeming continuous delay in prosecuting beleaguered business man, Alfred Agbesi Woyome.
According to Mr. Otoo, the state has no justification for failing to commence the trial involving the loss of some GH¢ 51 million to the state.
Speaking to Citi News, the former AG noted that with the available evidence on the controversial judgment debt payment saga, he would have proceeded to court and wonders why the state is dragging its feet.
The former AG said “we had a lot of material already before the president in his own wisdom authorized EOCO to go and do another investigation. The EOCO report is there for everybody to read. Those they contacted are there to give evidence.
“The former Attorney General Martin Amidu made it clear that he had seen fraud being perpetrated. At the end of all these why are we still finding excuses in prosecuting Woyome? I think something does not add up… What is the delay for?”
