Ken Kuranchie Moved From Nsawam To Ho Central Prison
Volta regional Executives of the main opposition New Patriotic Party have visited convicted Editor-in-Chief of the Daily Searchlight Newspaper, Ken Kuranchie at the Ho Central Prisons.
Mr. Kuranchie was moved from the Nsawam medium prisons to Ho Central at dawn on Wednesday.
His movement sparked concerns among some members of the NPP, including Nsawam Adoagyir Member of Parliament, Annor Dompreh who told XYZ News that security officers picked up Ken Kuranchie at 3am from the Nsawam Medium security prison to an unknown place.
“Ken Kuranchie was brought there (Nsawam) yesterday but this dawn at 3am, they took him to a place [that] no one knows”, he claimed.
He appealed to the Prisons and Police Authorities to inform Ken Kuranchie’s family of his whereabouts even if they chose to withhold that information from the rest of the country.
It is not clear why Mr. Ken Kuranchie was moved from Nsawam to the Ho Central facility.
Mr. Kuranchie was sentenced to a 10-day prison term by the Supreme Court on Tuesday over a front page publication by his newspaper which questioned the basis of the Court’s invitation of Deputy Communication Director of the main opposition New Patriotic Party, Sammy Awuku, for describing the Bench as “hypocritical and selective”.
