Bishop Obinim Is Not Guilty Before The Law Legal Practitioner
A Kumasi-based legal practitioner and a Parliamentarian says no lawful charges can be preferred against Bishop Obinim, General Overseer of the International God.s Way Church neither can any legal action be taken against the man of God for allegedly paralyzing a little boy and also for making him go bonkers, albeit spiritually.
On Wednesday, August 10, 2011, Bishop Obinim openly admitted in an interview on Peace FM that he cursed a little boy he is alleged to have fathered with Gifty Pokua, the wife of one his junior pastors, as punishment for Gifty's desire to dent his image and to prove that he still had the anointing of God.
The embattled Bishop Obinim claims that Gifty Pokua, unbeknownst to him has been secretly recording conversations between the two of them with the mindset of blackmailing him, and so decided to teach her a lesson.
Though Obinim has confessed having sex with her, he claims the adultery happened some five years ago and that he has since stopped bonking her.
But General Secretary of the Ghana Pentecostal Council, Apostle Samuel Yaw Antwi stated on Peace FM that when the matter came before the council, there was overwhelming evidence that Obinim continued to have sex with the wife of the junior pastor, and even continued when she was pregnant.
I passed my hands through his head, so his mind is completely destroyed and I held his feet and paralyzed him so that the child can never walk… I used the power of Jesus that is in me. I wanted to prove to her that she (Gifty Pokua) cannot destroy the work of God that I was doing because I am not the only man of God who has slept with another woman, Bishop Obinim said.
Showing no remorse for his action, Bishop Obinim rather asked the woman to render an apology to him if she wants her child to be normal.
"...That is my way of proving to her that she cannot do what she has done because the relationship we had was some three, four years ago. However if she apologizes to me, I would heal the child," he confidently stated.
Despite this open admission of guilt, the legal practitioner says Obinim will go scot-free legally as the legal system only thrives on unequivocal evidence.
Speaking in an interview on Peace FM News, Lawyer Kwame Anyimadu-Antwi, who is also the Member of Parliament for Asante Akim North, held that the embattled man of God can be dragged to court if only the action was physically perpetuated, aside that, nothing can be used to incriminate him.
If he was able to say that he did it physically then the law can deal with him but if it is spiritual then the law cannot deal with him. If it is physical then evidence can and will be used against him…we cant take spiritual issues to court. If even we made it part of our constitution one needs to have the third eye before such issues can be dealt with...,he said.
