Nana Konadu's NDP dream is not over; Josiah Aryeh reveals
Nana Konadu’s National Democratic Party (NDP) has given indications that their mission to annex the December 7 polls is far from over despite the party’s inability to meet the Electoral Commission’s deadline for filing of nominations Thursday.
The National Democratic Party, an offshoot of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) has come under intense criticisms with many NDC activists accusing the party of going into the polls to scuttle the chances of the NDC since they claim the NDP has no realistic chance of winning the December 7 polls.
The inability of the NDP to complete the EC’s nomination forms before Thursday’s deadline meant the party is unable to contest the 2012 presidential elections but interim General Secretary of the NDP, Josiah Aryeh told Joy News his party is not giving up yet.
According to Josiah Aryeh, the EC indeed raised some concerns about the nomination forms of the former first lady. But Mr Aryeh was quick to add that they have a scheduled meeting with the EC where they will address the concerns raised by the EC.
The NDP secretary stated that until they meet the EC over the concerns raised, it is “wrong” and “erroneous” for people to conclude Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings will not be part of the race to the Jubilee House.
The NDP which had its congress barely a week ago have given strong indications that it will be a strong political force to reckon with and will not fade into the oblivion just like all previous the NDC break-away parties.
