Drama At Ministers’ Vetting

New entrant Carlos Ahenkorah polled 446 votes, leaving the strong woman with just 273 votes. A third candidate Adwoa Amoako got an embarrasing figure of two votes.

Also at Tema Central incumbent Kofi Brako beat his contender Agyemang Prempeh with 315 votes.

Earlier during voting, Agyemang Prempeh raised concerns about the positioning of the polling booths. According to him, it would be easy for anyone to see which candidate the delegates voted for.

In the Juaben constituency in the Ashanti Region, Ama Pomaa Boateng retained the ticket.

Meanwhile results for Kintampo North, Obom-Domeabra and Gomoa East are yet to be declared.

NPP delegates at Korle Klottey in the Greater Accra Region who turned up in their numbers Saturday to cast their ballot were left disappointed.

A group of supporters, suspected to have the backing of one of the Parliamentary aspirants, Philip Addison, secured an injunction restraining the Electoral Commission from conducting the primaries.

Although the party had indicated on Friday that it had not been served with the injunction and would be going ahead with the primary there, EC officials were not at the constituency to supervise the elections on Saturday.

Angry residents say the injunction was unfortunate and a setback for the party.
