"Essikado Has Full Confidence In Amissah-Arthur” - Nana Nketsia
Nana Kwabena Nketsia V, Paramount Chief of Essikado Traditional Area in the Western Region has vouched for Paa Kwesi Bekoe Amissah-Arthur, Running-mate to President John Dramani Mahama in the December election.
He minced no words in declaring his support for the Vice President whom he said he had known through the years.
Speaking in the native Fante language, Nana Nketsia said he could have a sound sleep if Ghana were entrusted into the partnership of the Mahama/Amissah-Arthur administration.
“Se me nnua yi na ote guam, me da.”
Nana Nketsia traced his relationship with the Vice President through their days of schooling describing him as confident, competent and forthright, adding that, he also respected tradition and is well cultured.
According to the traditional ruler, the understanding of the Vice President in matters of the economy was well grounded, adding that, it had brought a lot of pride to Ghana since his assumption of the position.
Vice President Amissah-Arthur, a former Governor of the Bank of Ghana was approved by Parliament after his nomination by President John Dramani Mahama following the death President John Atta Mills.
After his endorsement by the National Executive Committee of the ruling NDC, President Mahama endorsed him as his running-mate for December 7 general elections.
“Essikado has full confidence in Amissah-Arthur”, Nana Nketsia said and called on politicians to eschew violence and blackmail in the campaign towards election 2012.
He appealed to the Veep to use his position to revamp the rail-line in the area.
The Vice President, who was accompanied by his wife Matilda, said his wife hails from the region and sought their blessing to make his partnership with President Mahama a successful one.
