Ghana Needs A Decisive Leader, Not Propaganda – Mrs Akufo-Addo
18 October 2012
Mrs Rebecca Akufo-Addo, wife of the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) presidential aspirant, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has stated categorically that Ghanaians deserve a decisive leader who can transform the fortunes of the country, as the citizens are not interested in propaganda.
According to Mrs. Akufo-Addo, the era of propaganda leadership must end with a landslide victory for Nana Akufo-Addo and all Parliamentarians of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the December Polls.
Mrs. Akufo-Addo was speaking during her tour of the Tema Municipality today.
"The time for change is now, we must work for the future of this country and our children...we need a decisive leader, we can't continue to live in propaganda," she said.
She bemoaned the rapid decline of the country's economy under the NDC government and said, "the suffering must end...we should not allow them to deceive us...we all witnessed what the NPP did during their reign and what the NDC is also doing."
"We brought the NHIS but they are collapsing it, where is the free maternity? Where are the jobs they said they have created."
An NPP government under Nana Akufo-Addo, Mrs. Akufo-Addo said, will revive the NHIS and bring back the free maternity care.
"We are not only going to give our children free SHS education, but also an NPP administration will offer all children free access to the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS)."
Mrs. Akufo-Addo's tour of Tema took her to the various markets in the Municipality.
She once again reiterated the NPP's vision of building modern markets across the country.
The NPP's Parliamentary Candidate for the Tema East Constituency, Titus Glover, revealed that the NDC has plans to rig the December elections, and urged Ghanaians to be vigilant.
"NPP has the popular vote, the NDC want to rig it, but no way, we must be vigilant and prevent their fraud," he stated.
Mrs. Rebecca Akufo-Addo was accompanied by Mrs Samira Bawumia.
