MTN Punches Local Gov’t Minister: He Is A Bootlicker
Outspoken NDC Member of Parliament for Lower Manya Krobo, Hon. Michael Teye Nyaunu has launched a scathing attack on the Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, describing him as a ‘bootlicker’.
He accused the minister of willing to do anything to achieve his aim, including undermining others, and further accuse the Tema West NDC Parliamentary candidate of lying his way into his current ministerial position.
In a blistering attack on the government over the level of corruption among ministers and officials, Hon Teye Nyaunu told Kwame Nkrumah “Tikese” on Okay FM’s Ade Akye Abia Morning Show the haste with which his amassing wealth is nauseating.
“Minister for Local Government, Ofosu Ampofo is a bootlicker; he undermines others…I have no personal issues with him but I telling what I know about him, he is a liar. He told a whole bunch of lies to get promoted to his current ministerial position,” he claimed.
The Lower Manya MP, also slammed the Central Regional Minister, Ama Benyiwaa Doe and Director of Operations at the Castle, Nii Lantey Vanderpuije, accusing them of masterminding the appointment of greedy District and Municipal Chief Executives in the country.
He alleged that the DCE in his constituency, Isaac Abgo-Tetteh, has constructed three mansions within three years of his appointment. Wondering the salary levels of some of these appointees, the NDC MP questioned how the Lower Manya Krobo DCE could put up three mansions in a relatively short time.
“If a DCE can put up three mansions in three years, every naïve person can determine that they are corrupt and they have people like Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, Nii Lantey Vanderpuije and Ama Benyiwa Doe shielding them.
These three government officials orchestrated his appointment and they don’t want anybody to talk about it. A lot of DCE’s and MCE’s had their appointments orchestrated…so even when the people are not performing, nobody wants to talk,” he added.
