ANUC Builds Satellite Campus
ALL NATIONS University College at Koforidua in the Eastern region is to build a satellite ground station which will serve as a research facility for the country and the sub-region.
Currently the university has long and short term programmes for space science and satellite technology where 15 students have been admitted to study educational satellite technology known as cansat.
President of the university, Dr Samuel Donkor announced this during the ninth congregation of the university at Koforidua where 120 students obtained first degrees in business administration, biomedical engineering, electronics and communication engineering, computer science and biblical studies.
“The mission of the centre is to produce academics, researchers and industry practitioners committed to business education using cases while the vision is to become a centre of excellence in case-centred management and research,” he said.
According to him, Harvard University in the US and the University of Western Ontario’s Ivey School of Business in Canada are two universities whose graduates are most sought after because of their biases for case methods and an unflinching commitment to case-based management education.
“This is the standard to which we aspire as we embrace the case study method,” he said
He said the university is working hard to find solutions to the challenge of effective waste management as the country’s population grows.
Guest speaker, Prof Kwasi Kwafo Adarkwa said the graduates had a social responsibility to advance the country’s efforts towards socio-economic development.
The former vice chancellor of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology said “as intellectuals in the field of engineering technology, business administration and theology, you are tasked to lead our society in generating the needed resources and knowledge to address our everyday challenges.” The ANUC is affiliated to KNUST and is the first accredited private university to offer a degree course in oil and gas.
