“Don't Allow The NDC To Treat You Like Farming Tools" - Dr Bawumia
Vice-Presidential Candidate of the New patriotic Party, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has said that the ruling National Democratic Congress has by their actions proven that they only realize the importance of our people when it is time for voting.
Dr. Bawumia made these comments in Nakpanduri on Saturday while on tour in the Bunkpurugu Yunyoo Constituency of the Northern Region.Addressing the people of the town, Dr. Bawumia said “it is very clear that the NDC has no real commitment to economic development. They want to treat us like farming tools. They pick us up when it is time for farming, then dump us somewhere and totally forget about us as soon as they are done with the harvesting; only to pick us up again when another season of farming shows up. This is how the NDC has treated and continues to treat us.
After electing them, they forgot totally about the people of Ghana but because elections are due again, they have come again to cut sods and pretend they are starting projects.”
The NPP Running Mate was sad that the NDC had used the construction of the Walewale-Nalerigu-Bunkpuruge road as a major promise to win votes in the area only to come to power to forget totally about the promise.
He also cited similar promises such as the promise to make the National Health Insurance Scheme a one-time premium paying scheme and the promise to set up SADA with a 200million dollar seed money and an annual funding of 100million Ghana cedis, all of which the NDC had failed to deliver.
Dr. Bawumia urged the people of Nakpanduri and the Bunkpurugu Yunyoo constituency not to be deceived by the propaganda and lies that would be peddled by the NDC and realize that if the NDC had anything good to offer, they would have witnessed it in the last three and half years. Dr. Bawumia assured the gathering to thunderous applause that the NPP’s promise of free quality secondary school education would be implemented in September 2013 if Nana Akufo Addo is given the mandate.
He stated that the NPP by its track record and vision was the only credible party with the policies and commitment to transform the lives of the people and build a society where a huge majority of the people would enjoy decent livelihoods.
Bawumia was in the Bunkpurugu-Yunyoo constituency on the third day of his sixteen day Northern Regional Tour. The day saw Dr. Bawumia and his team visiting communities such as Kpemale, Nakpanduri, Bimbagu, Binde, Najong No.1, Najong No.2 and Bunkpurugu.
The NPP Vice-Presidential candidate is accompanied on the tour by eminent NPP personalities from Northern Ghana including, Alhaji Aliu Mahama, former Vice-President, Sheikh T B Damba, 2nd National Chairman of the NPP, Madam Otiko Afisa Djaba, National Women’s Organizer, Anthony Karbo, National Youth Organizer, Mustapha Hamid, Spokesperson to NPP Presidential Candidate, Nana Akufo-Addo, Bugri Naabu, Mohammed Amin Anta, Former MCE of the Tamale Metropolis, among many others.
