Use Easter For Sober Reflection - Prez Mills

President John Evans Atta Mills has urged Ghanaians to use the Easter for sober reflection and retrospection.

He said the season was not a time to indulge in acts that were inimical to the purpose of the occasion and the nation as a whole.

In a message released at the Castle, Osu in Accra Wednesday, on the occasion of the Easter celebration, the President said, “As we rejoice and celebrate the resurrection of the Lord our saviour, we must not over-enjoy ourselves.”

He underscored the need for the people to apply their minds to the significance for which Jesus Christ died and resurrected and reminded them of the values of selflessness, unity, love for one another and humility.

President Mills also reminded motorists, as well as the travelling public, about the need to observe road regulations during the festivities to avoid unnecessary accidents.

He cautioned against associating the occasion with carnage on the roads, stressing that that erroneous impression should be discarded.

“Let’s remind ourselves that every life is important because there is work after Easter,” he said.

President Mills reminded Ghanaians of the second phase of the ongoing biometric registration exercise and urged those qualified but who had not yet registered to do so.
