Mahama Must Explain Why He Left Bishop Middle School
PRESIDENT JOHN Mahama Must Explain Why He Left Bishop Middle School FROM HIS BIOGRAPHY AND CV We have noticed that the ruling party, the National Democratic Congress, obviously empty of any meaningful message to convince the people of Ghana with to vote for them, the party has returned to what they know best, malicious and senseless attacks on the NPP Presidential Candidate, Nana Akufo-Addo.
Nana Akufo-Addo and the New Patriotic Party have made Education (access to free, quality education for every Ghanaian child) the main issue of this campaign. The latest response by the NDC is to go to Akufo-Addo’s CV and focus on where he went to school as an 18-year-old in 1962.
Nana Akufo-Addo has never claimed in his CV that he ever attended or received a certificate from Oxford University. According to the NDC, this means the NPP candidate is hiding something.
We, the Patriotic Northern Youth, have also done our investigation on President John Dramani Mahama’s CV and want him to explain one omission to the nation.
Why is there no mention in the President’s official CV or even in his book, My First Coup d’etat, the fact that he attended Bishop Middle School? And, does he care to share with the world what big trouble he got into after sexually attacking a very popular girl in the school?
On Government’s website, this is what is said of the President’s education before university: President Mahama attended Ahimota School, Primary Department, Ghana Secondary School, Tamale, in the Northern Region for his Ordinary and Advance Level GCE certificates.”
The President should provide answers to the following questions concerning the history of his education:-
• He says in his book that because of free education in the North, his father took him from the “elite” Achimota School and his 18 siblings to Tamale, where he attended the Ghana Secondary School in 1971.
• But, he has classmates alive in Tamale today with whom he first attended the Bishop Middle School between 1970-1971. So at what point did he leave Achimota and where did he go immediately after leaving Achimota?
• What is the reason for his failure to mention Bishop Middle School in his CV? What is he shy of?
• The Patriotic Northern Youth is reliably informed, there are several witnesses to this, that between 1971 and 1972 three students were sacked from Bishop Middle School for various offences, including sexual assault and rape. Among the three names was a certain Dramani Mahama?
• What is the relationship, if any, between that Dramani Mahama and this Dramani Mahama who is now President John Dramani Mahama?
Education is certainly the main issue in this campaign. We did not think where our Presidential Candidate attended school and what he did when he was a teenager was what would determine the future and education of the children of Ghana in 2012.
But, since the NDC are asking, we also want to know what their Presidential Candidate did at school when he was just 13 years old and what is so bad about it that it is totally missing from his book about his life?
He can be forgiven for leaving that out on his CV but not for leaving it out from his autobiography, a book that he speaks so much of how his father bought them an MG Sports car so they could “zip” around the Tamale city, having fun, going to discos and chasing girls.
