Sir John Should Go To The Court With Strong Legal Representation – Arthur K.
13 August 2013
A member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Arthur Kennedy has advised the party’s General Secretary, Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie to appear before the Supreme Court with strong legal representation to avoid suffering a fate similar to Ken Kuranchie.
Mr. Afriyie and another party activist, Hopeson Adorye will both appear before the Supreme Court on Wednesday to purge themselves of contemptuous remarks they are alleged to have made.
Ahead of this, some political groups and commentators have appealed to the Supreme Court to deal leniently with the accused persons while others have also called on the Chief Justice to intervene on their behalf.
However, in an interview with Citi News, Dr. Kennedy stated that the way “Kuranchie and other cases were handled were not handled well and with the lessons of this, I hope that he will get strong legal representation and that we can go on and have a peaceful resolution of this issue.”
He further wished Mr. Afriyie well and expressed the hope that “we can move on to the bigger issue which is the election petition.”
