NPP will keep faith with Ghanaians – Nana Akufo-Addo
Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo, Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has pledged to keep faith with Ghanaians and deliver on the party’s election promises.
He said he would do everything to ensure that the expectations of the people were met when given the mandate to lead the nation.
Nana Akufo-Addo, who is on a 10-day campaign tour of the Ashanti Region, the stronghold of his party, was addressing separate mini-rallies at Wioso, Adugyama, Mpasaso Number One, Mankranso and Mpasaso Number Two in the Ahafo-Ano South District.
It is part of his nationwide “restoring hope tour” to interact with voters in their communities to gauge their needs and concerns.
Touching on his drumbeat free Senior High School (SHS) agenda, the NPP flag-bearer, insisted that it was possible and urged the people to ignore those desperately trying to discredit it.
He said Ghana needed a vibrant human resource base and workforce and this could be achieved when the people were educated.
The party would embark on an industrial revolution to create jobs and wealth for the growing youth population.
He made reference to the sound economic policies and pro-poor interventions introduced by the previous NPP government including the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), the School Feeding Programme, Capitation grant, Livelihood Empowerment against Poverty (LEAP) among others and said the party’s landmark achievements in the eight years were there for all to see.
Nana Akufo-Addo called on the people to vote massively for the NPP in the upcoming general to put the nation on the real path of economic growth and prosperity.
They should not make the mistake of renewing the mandate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) because it has demonstrated that it is incompetent, bereft of ideas and lacked the leadership to transform the lives of the people.
He said the NDC’s bad governance had led to growing cynicism, joblessness and economic suffering among majority of the population.
Among the leading members of the party, accompanying him are Mr Kwadwo Owusu-Afriyie, the General Secretary, Dr Kofi Konadu Apraku, Dr Owusu Afriyie Akoto, MP for Kwadaso, some MPs from the region, former Ministers and former DCEs.
