Mills Scored 35% Over 100 - Teye Nyaunu
14 September 2012
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament for Lower Manya Krobo constituency, Michael Teye Nyaunu, has marked President John Evans Atta Mills 35% over 100, arguing he has been charitable because the late president failed to deal with corruption in his administration.
He said the ruling party has failed to live up to expectation. The outspoken lawmaker said the NDC administration is not worthy of a second term come the December elections because it has achieved nothing meaningful over the last three-and-half years for Ghanaians.
Speaking in an interview with Citi News on Thursday, Hon. Nyaunu said late President Mills failed to transform the lives of Ghanaians when he was alive.
He said “the NDC has a lot of promises they have to fulfill” because the party has not redeemed 90% of their campaign promises. “The NDC has simply failed the people and must act now.”
He questioned why the NDC try to present President Mills as a saint, adding that it is only gullible people who will fall for such political gimmick.
“Why was the Accra High Street named after him,” he asked. “The Accra High Street has been there all this while. Now they have named it after him, have you constructed a flyover by adding the name? If you deem it fit to name it after him, go and add value to the road.”
Hon. Nyaunu said President John Dramani Mahama has a great deal of work to do if he really wants to retain power.
“He has to work hard to win the confidence of the voters. People will not vote for President Mahama because they like him, it’s a matter of the policies that the NDC government has and will implement,” he said.
