I Fear For My Son – Vice President Amissah-Arthur’s Mother

Maa Efe Amissah-ArthurI Fear For My Son – Mother

The mother of Vice President Paa Kwesi Bekoe Amissah-Arthur has revealed her initial fears for her son entering mainstream politics, when his name was first mentioned as the vice president nominee.

Maa Efe Amissah-Arthur said she was struck with fear and trepidation when her son’s name was mentioned as the likely candidate for the Veep position, “because I fear he will soon become a topic of discussion in the political realm. Maa Efe stated that the thought of her son being embroiled in the political landscape and becoming a vice president of intense political discourse brought much fear to her, stressing that her son was a reserved and reticent type of person, who does not want to engage in public arguments.

According to her, she later took consolation in God Almighty, stressing that she was hopeful it was by divine arrangement that her son should be nominated to serve at such a high political level.

“My fear later turned into hope and satisfaction, because I believe it is God that has put him there, and so he will be the one that will guide and protect him in all his endeavours,” she noted.

Recounting with sweet memories the early days in the life of the vice president during an interview with Kwame Adinkra on Angel FM, Maa Efe noted that her son was a type of person who was endowed with humility and selflessness, and also had good human relationship.

“I remember in his young days, I bought clothes for him and his younger brother, but his younger brother insisted he wanted his, to let peace prevail, Bekoe just told me to grant the wish of his younger brother; that is him, always selfless and altruistic,” she recalled.

The former Bank of Ghana Governor has assumed the second highest political seat in the country, after being selected Vice president-nominee by His Excellency President John Mahama.
