Ghana Deserves More Than A 'Slow But Sure' Leadership, Says Akufo-Addo

The NPP flagbearer made this known when he called on the Wa spare parts dealers association popularly known as 'Magazine', Wednesday, as part of his tour of the Upper West Region.

Nana Addo in his interaction with the artisans assured them that the German manufacturing model, together with their apprenticeship and skills training systems, which he recently went to study in Berlin will be introduced by his administration if God willing the NPP is returned to power in December.

The model, he said, has helped enormously in building the German economy and "it can be done in Ghana too."

Nana Addo believes that Ghana has the potential of achieving what other developed countries have been able to, if the right government is in power.

He said "under my leadership, government will set up training centers for skilled workers like you, which will help harness your talents and develop your skills."

That, he said, will prepare them adequately for the job market whilst the economy also benefits from the use of their acquired knowledge and skills.

The artisans, who could not hide their joy, assured Nana Addo of their total support in the upcoming elections.

They also took the opportunity to put before Nana Addo some of their concerns.

The concerns of the artisans as outlined included improving the security condition and drainage systems in and around the 'magazine' area as well as provision of street lights in the area.

They commended the NPP for introducing the National Health Insurance Scheme "to provide quality healthcare services to all Ghanaians."

They also mentioned the achievements of the NPP in the areas of sound economic management and agriculture as well as all the numerous social interventions, which they say, helped improve their living conditions.

The artisans, in a speech, a copy of which was presented to Nana Addo, said "we wish to remind all Ghanaians of the great works that the NPP government did for Ghanaians so that they can see the need to vote Nana and the NPP back to power come December 2012, for more and improved policies."

Earlier, Nana Addo visited the Wa slaughter house where he assured butchers of improved working conditions and access to credit facilities when the NPP comes back to power.

Nana Addo and his running mate Dr Mahamudu Bawumia are currently in the Upper West Region with their 'hope tour'.

On Wednesday they toured the Wa Central and Wa East Constituencies which took them to communities such as Sokpayiri, Mangu, Nakori, Jonga, Loggu, Bunaa, Kulkpong, Bulenga, Goripie and Manwe.
