Ghanaians don’t need Rawlings to name NDC's traitors - Kofi Adams

He stated that instead of the national executives of the party to confront the issues raised by their party founder, they are rather inciting party members against the Rawlingses.

Kofi Adams’ comment is in response to a challenge by Deputy Information Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa to Mr. Rawlings to name the traitors in the NDC.

According to Ablakwa, most of the accusations leveled against government by the former President “are still in the realms of vagueness and generality” hence will want him [Rawlings] to be more specific.

But speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme Friday, Kofi Adams said Okudzeto Ablakwa should grace himself for the expose’.

He noted that dropping of the names need not be done at June 4th rally because it needs more detailed assessment and revelations.

“If they want, former President Rawlings will call a press conference and show details; documents by documents, institutions by institutions of the issue brought to his [Rawlings] attention by aggrieved party members”.

“They [government] should not continue in this line because if they do, they will force people to say things that otherwise they do not want to say” Adams stated.

The spokesperson for the Rawlingses noted that attempts by some leading members of the NDC to incite party members against the Rawlingses will be an exercise in futility.

Mr. Adams said the criticisms by Mr. Rawlings is be a wake-up call to the NDC's national executives and government to refocus and uphold the core values and principles of probity, accountability and social justice on which the NDC was formed.

He debunked claims that Mr. Rawlings and his wife, Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings are working assiduously to derail the second term bid of President Mills to the presidency ahead of the December general election.

“In whose interest was the Rawlingses serving when they campaign vigorously in 2000, 2004 and 2008 general election” he quizzed.

Kofi Adams said in as much as the Rawlingses want the ruling party to succeed, they also want to ensure the right things are done.
