Economists cast doubt over govt's ability to cut fiscal deficit

Economists have cast doubt over the government’s ability to cut the country’s fiscal deficit to nine per cent by the end of the year. The Head of Research at Databank, Mr Sampson Akligoh, and Mr John Gatsi, a chartered Economist and lecturer at the University of Cape Coast have said that the risk factors such as the shortfalls in domestic revenues and removal of utility subsidies would affect the government’s plan to trim the deficit.
