Ghana’s former President, Flt Lt Jerry John Rawlings and former First Lady Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings on Tuesday expressed their sympathy to the government and people of the United Kingdom when they signed a book of condolence opened at the British High Commission, Accra in memory of the late Margaret Thatcher.

The couple complimented Baroness Thatcher for living her convictions with Mrs Rawlings lauding the former British Prime Minister’s role in giving a loud voice to strong women leadership in politics.

President and Mrs Rawlings were met and conducted through the signing by High Commissioner Peter Jones.

The former President was the Head of State of Ghana throughout the Thatcher years, which spanned from May 1979 to November 1990.
