Kofi Adams, current Deputy General Secretary of the partry, was welcomed in the Eastern Region by party delegates at the Presby Church hall in Anyinam.

Mr Adams was there for to support the campaign launch of Anthony Gyampoh, who is also vying for the position of vice chairman of the party.

The delegates spontaneously carried Mr. Adams shoulder high amid the chanting of the popular " Yεntie Obiaa" [we won't listen to anybody] slogan to drum home their readiness to vote massively for the man they affectionately refer to as "Say maata".

" Yεntie nea obi beka. We are going to vote for you. The party does not belong to Asiedu Nketia or anybody. We need you as our National Organiser because we know you are the best person for the job. We want to unite the party so who supported FONKAR [Friends of Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings] or GAME [Get Atta Mills Elected] is not what the party needs now", one of the delegates said.

The General Secretary of the party, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has on several platforms called on the party to reject disloyal members of the party contesting for national executive positions but has been met with stiff opposition from party members.

He was recently reported to have been booed by the Women organiser wing of the party at their delegates conference in Wa in the Upper West Region for asking delegates not to entertain persons who have had some relationship with the bitterest rivals, the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Kofi Adams was reported to have been caught in an audio recording planning with the opposition party to unseat then president John Mills but the party cleared him of any wrong doing.

The delegates believe the course embarked by the General Secretary is targeted at Adams. They however believe Adams is cut for the job.

Speaking at the launch of Mr Gyampoh's vice chairmanship bid, Kofi Adams called on delegates to vote for him (Anthony Gyampoh).

Mr Gyampoh is a former MD of the Electricity Company of Ghana.
